holland and hart

Holland & Hart LLP is the largest law firm based in the Mountain West, with over 400 attorneys in 15 offices. The firm’s litigators not only know how to win, they know how to win efficiently. All attorneys are committed to a cost-effective resolution of disputes, be it early in the process or after all appeals have been resolved.

The firm offers clients a wealth of talent and experience. Five of its partners are Fellows of the American College of Trial Lawyers; 33 are listed in Chambers USA; 32 have been selected as Best Lawyers in America and 43 have been recognized as Super Lawyers. Although Holland & Hart is based in the Mountain West, it has national reach; the group of 200 litigators/trial lawyers have successfully handled cases in all parts of the country. And in doing so, they bring an array of in-house resources that give them an edge and allow them to minimize costs.

In-house Resources

Trial consultants

Holland & Hart was one of the first – and remains one of the few -- law firms in the nation to employ full-time, Ph.D. litigation consultants to help clients assess their cases and, if necessary, prepare for trial. These consultants assist in developing case themes and trial strategies by conducting focus groups and mock trials, or simply by meeting with trial lawyers and clients to discuss key factual and legal issues. Clients often ask them to get involved in early case assessment, which lends confidence to early settlement decisions, helping to avoid litigation costs. If the client decides to try the case, by the time a trial date arrives, Holland & Hart litigators and trial consultants have carefully evaluated and selected the best way to present the case.

Courtroom technology and graphic specialists

The firm’s trial consultants work hand-in-glove with a nationally-recognized graphics department to create the visual images so important to courtroom persuasion. Armed with state-of-the-art computer hardware and software, they create cutting-edge charts, graphs, and animations to provide persuasive illustrations of the evidence. They also help manage the computerized trial presentation systems that have become the norm in courtrooms everywhere.

Electronic discovery management

Holland & Hart’s practice support group manages the complexities of electronic discovery including litigation readiness, preservation, collection, processing and the management of documents in a best of breed document review platform, which means clients do not need to hire outside vendors. In order to help reduce the costs of discovery, the firm’s practice support group has assembled defensible electronic discovery processing tools; they use these tools to process much of the electronic discovery that is collected on litigation matters. Once documents have been processed, they are loaded into a review platform, which allows for search, review, and production of documents virtually anywhere through a secure internet connection.
