gabrielle M. Hils
Ohio Fellow, Gabrielle Hils, is a partner with the law firm of Dinsmore & Shohl LLP where she is a member of the Products Liability and Environmental Toxic Tort Practice Groups. She practices in the firm's Cincinnati, Ohio office.
Admitted to practice in both Ohio and Kentucky, Ms. Hils' professional career as a litigator began in 1984. In the past 25 years she has gained extensive experience defending drug and medical device manufacturers in state and federal courts, including the following federal multidistrict litigation proceedings: MDL 1507: In re: Prempro Products Liability Litigation; MDL 1407 : In re: Phenylpropanolamine (PPA) Products Liability Litigation; MDL 1057: In re: Telectronics Pacing Systems, Inc., Accufix Atrial "J" Leads Product Liability Litigation; MDL 1023: In re Diet Drugs (Phentermine/ Fenfluramine/ Dexfenfluramine) Products Liability Litigation; and MDL 926: In Re: Silicone Gel Breast Implant Products Liability Litigation.
She also successfully defends companies in mass tort and class action litigation, including asbestos products and premises litigation and chemical exposure cases. In addition, she has defended financial institutions, finance companies and loan servicers in lender liability, consumer credit and predatory lending cases. Earlier in her career, Ms. Hils was appointed Assistant Special Prosecutor for the State of Ohio in State of Ohio v. Marvin L. Warner , 55 Ohio St. 3d 31 (1990).
Ms. Hils has been recognized by her peers for numerous awards including listings in The Best Lawyers in America ® and OhioSuper Lawyers ® by Law & Politics .
In 1984, Ms. Hils earned her Juris Doctor with high distinction from the University of Kentucky College of Law, where she was Order of the Coif and served as Managing Editor of the Kentucky Law Journal. In 1981, she earned her Bachelor of Arts degree summa cum laude from Thomas More College.
