The Litigation Counsel of America will present awards and scholarships on an annual basis in relation to Fellow participation. Writing awards for articles published in the Journal of Court will be given for exemplary work as determined by the editorial board of the Journal. Law student or law school awards for national or regional trial competition will also be given. The LCA will accept matching funds from a selected Fellow’s firm each year to designate the trial competitor’s crystal bowl trophy after the firm, e.g. “The Litigation Counsel of America – Burr & Forman Cup.”
Tuition assistance scholarships will be given by the LCA each year to selected law school students based upon recommendations from the Scholarship Committee. Fellows and Associate Fellows may submit nominations for prospective recipients.
Any firm desiring to sponsor any award, scholarship or competition through the LCA is encouraged to do so. Upon request, the LCA will subordinate to such sponsoring firm for marketing purposes of the firm. The LCA will take any active role desired by the firm in order to acknowledge that the firm’s efforts are fully sanctioned by the Litigation Counsel of America.
All award and scholarship contributions by firms of Fellows or Associate Fellows will be prominently noted in the LCA’s Web site and may be acknowledged through the media in conjunction with the LCA as may be desired by the firm. For instance, newspaper articles may be headlined “Litigation Counsel of America Recognizes Silver & Freedman Scholarship.” The LCA will actively assist Fellow, Associate Fellow or firm efforts to have recognized award or scholarship contributions.
