Trial by Zoom: Views from the Bench
September 17, 2020
1PM EDT
The Litigation Counsel of America is pleased to present “Trial by Zoom: Views from the Bench” featuring Judge Dana S. Preisse and Chief Judge Jack B. Tuter, moderated by LCA Senior Fellow Loriann E. Fuhrer.
Program Overview
As we all attempt to fully re-engage despite a pandemic, it remains unclear when, if ever, we will return to “normal.” We struggle with how to be effective advocates from a (social) distance. Join us as we hold a conversation with two jurists who have spent time actively thinking through and experiencing how virtual trials might look. Chief Judge Jack B. Tuter of the Seventeenth Judicial Circuit of Florida has been working closely with the American Board of Trial Lawyers to conduct a series of mock virtual jury trials and voir dire panels, and is a strong believer in remote trials. Judge Dana S. Preisse is a veteran judge on the Franklin County, Ohio, Court of Common Pleas Domestic Relations and Juvenile bench, and has presided over two recent Zoom trials. LCA Senior Fellow Loriann E. Fuhrer will moderate the discussion.
